Why make a trilogy of you're worst game ? at least make it have some interesting things. Final Fantasy x-2 Story was horrendous but everything else was fantastic. Except for the no blitzball.

Just because you didnt like the games dosent mean their bad.. i loved both and cannot wait for this new one.. you dont like it dont pay attention to it, very easy
oh god.. internet is destroying my grammar.... "your"
Anyhow... it doesn't change the fact that 13 is their worst in the series as far as i know. Even if you and a lot of other people enjoyed the game they could have made one everyone could have enjoyed.. it would have been a better market decision and would boost up their tarnished reputation.
Why don't they just make a spinoff of Hope trying on dresses, it could be an entire game. Hopes Androgynous adventure, atleast it's a better title than Lightning returns.they're trying to turn Lightning into a gaming Icon like cloud.....not working out too well IMO Agreed.[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="Shirokishi_"]

-The battle system is time based, real time
-You map different attacks to the face buttons, there are no menus (like KH but less button mashy)
-You can move freely around in battle, timing is important
-'Overclock' ability lets you slow down time in battle to gain an advantage (wasn't Overclock originally shown with the first FFXIII trailer??)
-Lightning has loads of customization, and her skill selection is reflected by the gear which you have her wear
-The world is all new
-The game is open world, and quest based, not linear
-Different actions burn time in different ways in the world, such as discovering a certain treasure, or making certain decisions
-After 13 days you may be forced into the final battle regardlessNew Info
This sounds pretty good. I'm actually interested.

Eh...>_> So I guess you won't repeat the days (which might be a good thing since going through 13 days over and over could get tedious)? On second thoughts, this doomsday system sounds iffy.

thats never possible. Everyone will always dislike something.
im iffy on this. mainly cause I dislike games that give me a time limit to play them. I never feel like im truly enjoying it since im always worried about time.

Nomura is not Toriyama.Shirokishi_
I say it because when I think Nomura this is what comes to mind: Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia and The World Ends With You (mostly good games and Kingdom Hearts has been pretty consistent and this is why there is nothing to fear. I know KH games are very wacky but that's how the series has been portrayed since the very beginning unlike FFXIII)
while Toriyama: FFX-2, FFXIII, FFXIII-2 (games that I didn't like one bit and that are all over the place from story to characters and overall design). The Lightning saga is a mess with many great ideas that would have worked if the story and other mechanics weren't so forced and tacky. And what I mean by that is what you just said there....

Toriyama didn't write the scenario for X though, Nojima did. Toriyama isn't a good writer, and that's putting it lightly.
Im pretty sure Toriyama ran the whole thing "Motomu Toiyama had the biggest and most important role out of all the staff working on Final Fantasy X and he was regarded by Kitase as the main director of the game. Toriyama was responsible for every single event scene in Final Fantasy X and also the pacing and flow of the entire game. He also created the back story of all the playable characters. He was also the scenario editor and he would often edit the script to match what he wanted to portray out on screen in an event scene. The scenario was written by Kazushige Nojima with the assistance of Daisuke Watanabe. Toriyama says that his work on Final Fantasy X was mainly influenced by his work on the Midgar sections of Final Fantasy VII. He tried to make the game feel like an interactive movie and that each event scene happened regularly throughout the game. He believes that the lack of the world map made it much easier to make sure the player saw all the event scenes without destroying the pacing of the narrative." Did he write all the romance stuff? I personally felt all the romance stuff was shoved down my mouth the whole time I was playing x. It didint gel with me at all.

Stop smoking so much crack. Of course Cloud is a gaming icon and I say that as someone who is not enamored with the character in any way.
Honestly, this sounds interesting. I just wish they used all these ideas in an all new game instead of a third Final Fantasy XIII, one that no one asked for. charizard1605
Pretty much how I feel. I actually like th sound of this new game so far, just would have preferred it to be in another game (or maybe even FFXV). Should have just saved this new battle system for another non-XIII game and just have the final part of the XIII-saga keep the same battle system of the previous two games, with some tweaks here and there.
Square is dead to me.
And serious question, how many of you actually give flying f*ck about Lightning? Shes not even a good character and shes a terrible main character.

This. I wanted her beaten and left in a ditch after the 1st hour of FFXIII. Please Square, stop making games based on FFXIII. No one likes that game.
